DARK CRYSTAL MANDALA
This piece is part of my ongoing exploration of symbolic geometry as a vessel for inner and outer states of being. With Dark Crystal Mandala, I wanted to create something that feels sacred but untouchable—like an artifact from a forgotten realm, or a relic that has waited in the dark to be seen. Its glow isn’t warm. It’s cold, calculated. Not welcoming, but watching. To me, this mandala is a portal. It’s structured like a language, but you can’t read it. It’s alive with energy, but it doesn’t move. It just holds. And waits. The title refers to both the material and the feeling: crystal as something sharp, precise, maybe dangerous—and dark as in what hasn’t been revealed. I think of it as a psychic mechanism, turning in silence, powered by memory or something older. Some people might see it as meditative. Others, as unsettling. I like that it can hold both.
